I love making films
Nic Thompson is a multi award winning filmmaker. Originally from Aberdeen, Nic learned his trade of directing, writing and producing whilst living and working in Los Angeles for a few years. It was here he achieved his MFA in filmmaking and worked on the most iconic film sets, backlots and sound stages in Hollywood.
Since returning home, Nic had his last short film “We Sit. We Drink. No Guns” premiered in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 as well as a further 19 festivals world-wide winning 7 awards along the way. He was also one of the lucky few to be selected for the Edinburgh International Talent Lab 2015 where he met and networked with British filmmaking leads.
Nic recently returned to Aberdeen because he cares a great deal about Scottish cinema and wants to help propel the Norh-East to the forefront of Scottish filmmaking and has his next projects set there. Nic is especially keen to collaborate with and help local talent with their filmmaking ambition. Crow House was born when speaking to his co-directors about the best way of doing this – To build a network.
